“Retirement” is another crazy American idea like “daylight savings” time. Yes, maybe tasks will change somewhat, but why on earth would anyone want to “retire”?
My conclusion is that it is because they are giving the best parts of the best days of the best years of their lives doing something they don’t enjoy, just to make a lot of money, so they can’t wait to quit. And of course they want an easy life - to get paid for not working.
